Powering down really does add up!

Wow! In just one month’s time, students from five local universities were able to conserve a total of 78,470 kWh.

Avista would like to thank Gonzaga University, North Idaho College, University of Idaho, Washington State University, Whitworth University, and their energy-saving students, for their participation in the 2011 Power Down, Add Up energy conservation competition. The competition is officially complete as October has come to a close.

Thank you again for your commitment to saving energy during October 2011 – Energy Awareness Month. Your efforts are not only making you more conscientious energy consumers, but also inspiring your surrounding communities as they’ve seen your efforts come to life.

Prizes will be awarded in the coming weeks along with the announcement of the iPad2 winner. Stay tuned!
